Can I install mods on my ForgeWorld Gaming DayZ server?

What is the SteamCMD app ID for the DayZ server?

223350 for the stable branch and 1042420 for experimental. Bohemia's install line takes your own Steam account rather than an anonymous login.

Why might the DayZ server fail to start?

Most often because no config file was named. Bohemia state there is no default name and the server will not launch without one, since the mandatory settings are never read otherwise.

Why do DayZ mods stop loading after an update?

The symlinks break. Mods download under the Steam workshop folder and are linked into the server root, and Bohemia's own update script deletes and recreates those links on every run.
