Palworld server settings generator
Build PalWorldSettings.ini for a Palworld dedicated server, self-hosted or on server hosting: all 122 settings with shipped defaults, checked for mistakes.
How to use the generator
- Stop the server first. A running Palworld server writes the settings it started with back to the file when it stops, so an edit made while it runs is lost.
- Paste your current PalWorldSettings.ini to start from it, or start from the shipped defaults.
- Change what you want. Each setting shows its default and Pocketpair's description, and the checks flag the mistakes we have seen the server skip or misread.
- Copy or download the file, save it as PalWorldSettings.ini in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer on Linux or Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer on Windows, then start the server.
What it checks
- A line break inside the OptionSettings line: in our test the server ignored every setting after the break.
- Misspelt or unknown setting names, which the server skips without a line in its log.
- Values the game does not know, such as an unknown death penalty, which fell back to the default in our test.
- Values outside Pocketpair's stated ranges, such as more than 10 bases per guild.
- Double quotes or a trailing backslash in a text value, which cut the value short or stopped later settings from being read in our test.
- A pasted DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini, the template the server never reads.
Each check rests on Pocketpair's documentation or on our own test of server v1.0.5.102999 (Steam build 25247047). The descriptions are Pocketpair's; 23 settings have none, and the generator says so rather than guess.

On ForgeWorld Gaming
On a ForgeWorld Gaming server the panel writes the server name, description, both passwords and the crossplay platforms from the Startup tab at every start, sets the player limit from your plan's slots, and manages the port, IP and RCON settings. Change those in the panel; the generator marks them.
Questions
Does the generator change my server?
No. It builds the file in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. You copy or download the file and put it on your server yourself, with the server stopped.
Which Palworld version are the defaults from?
The DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini that ships with Steam build 25247047 of the dedicated server (v1.0.5.102999), checked 2026-10-19. The descriptions are Pocketpair's, from their v1.0.4 documentation; 23 settings appear in the file with no description, and the generator says so rather than guess.
Do I need all 122 settings in the file?
No: settings you leave out keep their defaults. The generator writes them all, so the file is complete and easy to edit later. On a ForgeWorld Gaming server keep the full file, because the panel replaces a very short one with a copy of DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini.
Why did my settings not change after I edited the file?
Usually one of three things: the server was running when you saved, so it wrote its old settings back as it stopped; the edit went into DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini, which the server never reads; or a line break split the OptionSettings line. Paste your file into the generator to check the last two.
